I explore the nature of energy through experimentation at the intersection of art, science and spirituality. My focus is creating abstract painting and mixed media works with rich histories of complex and layered information with the intention of blending visual art with energetic healing and as such, my work has been recognized by the Marianne Oberg Foundation for Spiritual Art and is featured in the permanent collection of Seattle University’s Center for Science and Innovation.

This mix of visual art, energy healing, scientific research and spiritual inquiry seeks to provide a visceral experience for the viewer as well as an opportunity to teach and demonstrate the connection between art, science and spirituality (and everything else) through the exploration of energy.

In the 2020 Subtle Matter series featured here, the dashes around the edges are painted Morse code messages. Each painting for this series is based on a crystal. The title of each piece is a phrase representing aspects of the crystal's healing properties. This phrase is repeated in Morse code around the entire painting, the intention being that this meditative repetitive action encodes the painting with the energy of the message, (the crystal's energy), thereby providing the viewer with a visual and subtle vibrational healing experience. 

It has been observed that people will be drawn to the specific crystals (or plants, relationships etc.) that invite the particular healing that they subconsciously need and desire. I believe that experiencing the energy of what would otherwise be taken in or consumed one certain way, via alternate senses of sight, touch and sound potentially induces that healing on a much more interactive and conscious level. 

The color, patterning and scale are meant to pull the viewer in and inspire a state of awe and wonder, intentionally creating a receptivity and openness to experiencing the healing that they are calling in. Actively used as healing tools, these works serve as visual mediations that can be integrated into personal rituals or practices.
